rock and roll and sell out!

About Me

What do you want to do with your life? (copyright Twisted Sister)...
WE WANNA ROCK AND ROLL!
Originally started as a musical amalgamation writing cheesy pop-influenced rocky punk, Ultraxine are a group of individuals who strongly believe in doing things their own way....whether this be drinking mugs of tea on the grimy streets of london, walking around sheffield in pyjamas, or even writing the occasional song.
Previously known under the heading "The Random Occasionals" (as we would meet only randomly and occasionally), but also involved with such monikers as "Rock Granny Band" "Pink Death", and "Yayness" the band formed when rocking out some cheesy cover versions of pop classics for a great friend's Birthday Party.
We decided we wanted to write our own songs that you could drink to, dance to, and rock out a bit with. The kind of songs that would find themselves burrowed into your head the morning after the night before, with no idea as to how you'd been infected by them (other than it involving a rather good night!)
That's about it really. The best thing is what's to come... Who knows what the future will bring!
Excellent and wondrous news - we are releasing a single! Hurrah! Woo! Yay! Etcetera.
This fine disc contains our first ever single, plus a little surprise. shh! The tracklisting is as follows:
1. Message (The Badgers Song)
2. Butterflies (Demo)
3. Think of You (Demo)
This disc of joy could be yours for a mere Three English Pounds - that's £3, plus postage and packing. Also, £1 (that's One English Pound) from the sale of every CD single will be donated to Cancer Research, in memory of our wonderful friend Tracy Warnaby.
If you're tempted by this interesting proposition, please click on the link below. Thanks very much :)
At the moment, our main news is our single! Repeat all the Woos and Yays of above, but you have probably read that already. Er, in which case, sorry!
After the single news, we are also recording an album very soon - very very soon in fact! More news about this will be coming soon!
We're also in the process of organising some gigs for the summertime - if you want us to play with your band or come to your town please send us an e-mail , send us a Myspace Message or put a comment on this site!
We keep our lovely Myspace Blog updated as much as we can with goings-on in the world of Ultraxine. Have a look, at

We also post some photographs from time to time in our Online Photo Album of rehersals, strange things that happen, train journeys, gigs, songwriting bits and bobs and other things. Come and have a look!

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: myspace.com/ultraxine
Band Members: Taz:

Bass and vocals
...plus the odd bit of percussive stuff.
Rocking all over the Leeds.
Falling over sideways and landing on the bass playing wall.
Breaking feet...
And metal signs.
and pink.

Kateyay:

Guitar(s), Glockenspiel and vocals.
Rocking all over the London.
The occasional confusion.
Accidental head hitting against the microphone
Breaking ankles.
kazoos and metal signs.
And purple.

Rick:

Drums, cowbells
and a star shaped tambourine.
Rocking all over the Manchestercunia
Playing drums in the dark.
Impressive blood-splattered snare heads.
Breaking skin on said snare heads
Parking tickets
and the Hawaiian shirt of rock.

Influences: Taz's bass playing is mainly influenced by her 5-cup-a-day Tea habit.

Kate's guitar playing is mainly influenced by her 5-cup-a-day Tea habit.

Rick's drumming is mainly influenced by his drum sticks.

...and his 5-cup-a-day Tea habit.

Sonically speaking, we might sound a bit like this rowdy bunch:

Cheap Trick
Ginger/Wildhearts
AntiProduct
Ramones
Beach Boys
Honeycrack
ELO
Jason and the Scorchers
Devin Townsend
Silver Sun
and who could forget...
The Sweet.

Sounds Like: sock and roll. roll and sock.

Brian Wilson's harmonies mixed in with the speed of the Ramones, whilst listening to Abba, Devin Townsend and Weird Al, with a cold beer in your hand, flicking through all the channels available to the world at 500 miles an hour and ending up with Spaced.

In reality, we write songs with harmonies, sing them with gusto and like to make a bit of a noise. A coherent noise, at that!
Record Label: Do-It-Yourself! We're unsigned.
Type of Label: None
