About Me

Trinidadian-born comedian Jean Paul has always had an innate sense of humour. Maybe it..s because of his naturally curious nature; maybe it..s because of his light-hearted view on life. Whatever the reason, Jean Paul knew at an early age that a career in comedy was right for him.He began his career as one of Kenny Robinson..s Nubian Disciples of Pryor at Yuk Yuk..s Comedy Cabaret in Toronto. Jean Paul had made his mark, winning the hearts of the Nubian audience with his signature piece, Tink ..Bout it, a conversation between a Rastafarian and a Jamaican ..rude bwoy... His easy-going nature and versatile style of comedy soon won him the respect of his peers and the attention of promoters. He ascended from amateur to professional status within months, and now performs for a wide range of audiences.Since then, Jean Paul has travelled extensively across Canada, the U.S., South Africa, the Caribbean and the U.K., performing at such legendary venues as the Apollo in New York, and the Comedy Store in London. He has also been nominated for several prestigious awards, including the Tim Sims.. Award for up-and-coming comedians, and a Gemini Award for Best Writing in a Comedy Series.Jean Paul has also proven his talent in other areas. He has conquered television as a correspondent on the Comedy Network's PopCultured, portrayed a wide assortment of characters in the CBC special Thick and Thin, and plays the popular Fluff E the Hip-Hop Bunny, on the Comedy Network..s Buzz Show. Jean Paul was also a principal writer and performer on the Comedy Network..s After Hours with Kenny Robinson. Look out for the encore presentation of his Comedy Now special, which first aired on the Comedy Network in Summer 2006.
