The Drones came to life in 1976, and emerged as one of the most exciting bands from Manchester's punk scene. Their independent LP "Temptations Of A White Collar Worker" saw critical acclaim, knocking The Sex Pistols' "Anarchy In The U.K." off the number 1 spot for a short while in the midst of the punk revolution. They began touring Northern England and Scotland as a headline act, playing alongside bands such as Generation X and The Buzzcocks.
