During his early teens, Will Dogon was heavily influenced, musically, by heavy metal and hard rock bands such as Nirvana, Faith No More and Metallica and also by his fathers' extensive Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple vinyl collection. It was during this time that he started to learn to play the guitar and eventually went on to play small, local gigs with a few different bands.
He stumbled on the dance music scene in the shape of legendary techno party, Atomic Jam in Birmingham in the late 1990's and various smaller techno/breakbeat nights in the area. This was his introduction to Djing where he first started to learn mixing skills picking up records on labels such as Ninja Tunes and Tresor and listening to how Dj's like Ben Sims, Billy Nasty and Luke Slater would build their tech sets. He then began to play sporadically at house parties.
In 2002, he was introduced to psychedelic trance by a friend who played him cds by pioneering artists Doof and Halluginogen and a newly acquired TIP release 'The Mystery of the 13 Crystal Skulls'. From that moment on, he was hooked and continued to listen to as much psy as he could lay his hands on and attended various parties around the UK. It was about a year later that he bought some cd decks and set about mixing psychedelic trance. From this came a residency Dj slot at Stereo Chemistry in Birmingham and soon after, more gigs followed.
He is now a label DJ for Maia Records (Mexico)and has played all over the UK and recently @ Groovy Troopers and Electric Garden parties in South Africa alongside acts such as Eat Static, Man With No Name, Cosmosis, Banco de Gaia, S-Range, Joti Sidhu, Perplex, Laughing Buddha, Prometheus, Shakta, Sirius Isness, Error Corrective, EVP, OOOD, Zion Linguist, Freakulizer, Slug, Lost & Found and many more. Background mix - Will Dogon - Sigui....
