My Name is Karl and my artist name is ‘Electric Mirror’ the name comes from my Mayan sign, which is White Electric Mirror. I currently play under Phar-psyde records
I am originally from Cape Town South Africa where I was very involved in the scene there. I was part of the Psy-trance group Corona (Sanskara records) with Magnus Clausen, Brendon Rod and myself formed in 2002, we had a few releases and played live often but I went solo when I moved to UK in 2004. Corona have continued to be successful and now have several more releases and a full album.
I have been making Psy-trance for 7 years now but I started making music when I was 15, starting off with Bongo's and Bass guitar. In 1999 I started getting out of metal and into psy-trance cos I was totally blown away by the music and culture of the outdoor Psytrance festivals in Cape town SA.
I play live often all around England as Electric Mirror and have also played in France, Poland, Denmark, Italy, Greece, Ireland, Germany, Holland, Wales, South Africa, Slovakia and soon Portugal
I have had the pleasure of playing at the same parties with great acts such as Phattmatix, Illegal Machines, Scorb, NRS, SPC, IMIX, Kox Box, Dick Trevor, Joti Sidu, OOOD, Psymmetrix, EVP, Error Corrective, Damage, Hydrophonic, Carlos Santan, Ecliptic, Deviant Species, Broken Toy , Twisted System, Arifakt, Brethren, Pitch Hikers ect
I have a side project with Paul Dunk aka Psy-kwaai, (who also also writes under the name Module) Called 'Organic Hybrid' The stuff we do ranges from funky night time psy to fullon dark rippers. You can find the link to this project in my top friends list.
I have a new side project called Mr Mirra in which I do psybreaks, break beats and electro. Please see my top friend list for previews and more info.
