“Heart of Bambooâ€
Greetings! Thank you for visiting this site. Shindake is the name my Zen master gave to me which means "heart/mind of bamboo". In madarin it is "Shinxou". Fitting for me as I am a shakuhachi player. It is also the ambient electro-acoustic music project that I am undertaking that utilizes mainly the sounds of the shakuhachi in various morphed sonic textures and rhythms utilizing electronic and digital sound processors. In addition to the shakuhachi I also use other traditional Japanese musical instruments such as hichiriki, biwa, take/shino bue, koto, shamisen, and taiko as well as the Korean tanso. Periodically I will add new tracks to this page. In the meantime, please enjoy the ones on right now; two recent tracks and one traditional shakuhachi piece, Daibosatsu, from Hakata Iccho ken Temple in Kyushu. To listen to more of my traditional Japanese music work, go to : Alcvin Takegawa Ramos.
