Where Words Fail, Muzik Speaks

About Me

Everything Inspires What I Do In One Way Or Another...GOOD OR BAD. Inspires the way I think and Feel. I am inspired by all things Muzikal...Inspired by Sound. A sound that's brilliantly sinister, Underground..Uncut. Unbridled tribal beats reverberating from the darkest warehouse. It's the voice inside my head...sounds snakin' deep inside the back alleys of my mind. A sound that's set to make you move! From from the land of "Jack", the Original sound that made ya' groove...Chicago, Illinoize. Armin Gent a.k.a Dj Disciple, Someone who's been there and done that, been in this scene for a minute...Yeah. From the early warehouse/Muzik Box days of the mid eighties, from the 91'-99' Rave era, all the way up to the somewhat commercial era of now. What a looong strange trip it's been, indeed. My musical style ranges from Classic Acid House cuts to the most recent rhythms from the worlds leading and not so leading house/techno labels. In my Dj sets I offer up a "wild-styled" ride through the last 18 years of innovative music. Put together with love, perfection, and attention to minimalistic detail. The end result of my mix is always an inferno of groove, an underground hellride to the heart of the beat. Funky and Sexy, Dark and Deep. Aside from my passion with spinning the music I love, I've also been a Promoter for the last 9 years under the production guise of Direct Drive Productions. Some of the most notorious and legendary events I've produced in Chicago and Los Angeles with the aid of the Artists/Dj's that made it happen include: Diatribes 1-4, Direct Drive, Fuse 1 and 2, Jackoland, Dee Day 4 and 5, United We Stand, Heaven and Hell, Bassrush, Overdrive, Satyricon, Numbers, Ride The Rhythm, Jaktronik1-3, West Hollywoods' "Midnight Express" Series, amongst many other one off events. All Dj's and Artists that have appeared at these events are listed in my music list section. I am very fortunate to have lasted in this scene for as long as I have. I was right there in Chicago City 1985 when it all went down, the birth of the underground sound we call House, as we knew it then. Who knew it was going to snowball like it did? Who knew I would be here today, still involved and emersed in this whole crazy sh*t. Chicago City 1985, what a magical time it was! If you were there , consider yourselves one of the lucky ones. Where will I be? What will the muzik sound like ten years fom now? Only time will tell. One thing I know for sure...I will ride the rhythm as far as it will take me. Yeah, I'll be in this scene for a minute more...Lookin' For That PerfectBeat!
