Born into a family of entertainers, songwriters, music teachers and promoters, it was inevitable founder of Rictascale Productions, Ricta (Rick Wilson) would choose the Music Industry as his passion and career. With music in his blood it was no surprise the first Record/Publishing deal came at only eighteen years old. Two years later his career had blossomed and a trio was subsequently born when he hooked up with two other talented singer/songwriters and formed the band LOKO.Never quite achieving the fame and fortune they’d expected LOKO did receive numerous songwriting awards none-the-less, attracting strong interest from some powerhouse players including: Polydor Records U.K. who offered a publishing deal for the song “FALLENâ€, Sony/BMG Australia for the song “SHE†for use by the next Australian Idol winner, and Abby Road Studios U.K. with “ROUND HERE an album of hit songs†for Chris Blair. In the process the bands members were discovering where their real passions and successes might lie, and in 2003 LOKO disbanded and Rictascale Productions was born.To finance the label Ricta worked as a limousine chauffeur on the weekends. Through the week he wrote and produced music for corporate clients, studios and films. As the face of Rictascale Productions, he kept up appearances within the industry and received a Certificate of Achievement from The Australian Songwriters Association 2005 (www.asai.org.au) for the song “BRING IT ONâ€. Producing a weekly radio spot on 105.7 Radio Metro (Backseat Buzz, Word on the streets with Ricta!) he interviewed celebrities from the backseat of the limousine. The Epicentre of Music Solutions:
A Songwriting/Production label, Rictascale Productions was founded on the Gold Coast, Australia in April 2003. Rictascale Productions now has its own private recording studio with the capabilities of larger studios depending on budget and production requirements. When we asked Ricta about his vision for the label he was quick to articulate, “We are building a platform for new songwriters to be exposed via the rictascale.com website. The website is under constant re-development and one of its purposes is to network and showcase original songwriters. As the song library builds this will provide a short cut for Record labels, the Media, remix DJs and of coarse the songwriters themselves. We like to think of rictascale.com as an underground music industry hub, allowing the user to become a talent scout with out leaving the office†he enthused. Having already advised the Gold Coast City Council and produced music for the award winning projects: ‘Zero the Hero’ road safety initiative for primary schools and the S.M.A.R.T. motorcycle training initiative with Mick Doohan, 2007 has the smell of success is in the air for Rictascale Productions. “This is a very exciting time for the label because the network is expanding. We can now offer TV/Radio commercials, Film scores, Websites, Music videos, Artist management and as always, music designed to client specification†comments Ricta on the direction the label has taken since inception.Support and Encouragement to Live Your Dream:
