There are quotes, phrases, whole truths that fall out of your mouth. And they fall like anchors purchased by hitmen. And they crack the pavement when they land. And I watch them sink into the ground between my feet. And I start pulling at their chains, trying to drag them back up. If they get buried, then they're set in stone. But if I could just pick up the things you say and shove them back down your throat and tuck them behind your teeth, then we could just pretend you never said such things. But you put weight in your words so heavy that they nearly kill me. I listen to you talk about how pills were just a fuck up and you underestimated the strength of your own immune system. How horrible it was to wake up and realize you were still breathing when you so desperately planned on leaving. And next time, you'll just press yourself into the wind and float for awhile before your body hits the water because next time, oh next time, will be the last time you try and the first time you succeed. And those words I cannot lift. So I ask you to revise your will. I want the pieces of paper you murdered. I want to see the ink your weapon pen spilled. I want all of it. The napkins, the book covers, the thin receipt paper, I want every dead tree you thought no one would see. And you promised to give me your guitar so that I could press my face to its neck and still smell the iron your blood left as a stain on the frets and strings. I'll watch it haunt some corner of my room and pretend that the hollow body is like some ocean shell with the sound of you still in it echoing around. And here I am on all fours, my hands deep in the dirt digging for the last rung on those words you gave me, pleading for you to please, please just take it back. Please don't beat me at death.
Q: How do I get my very own copy of "Be Mine Or There Will Be War"?
A: Come to a Cordova Academy rock and roll show or go HERE and mail order it directly from us.
Your ears will thank you and, oh baby, so will we.
Love,

Even the straightest lines bend when they dive into strange ideas. And sound changes all the time. I mean, just the day before tomorrow, my guitar sounded like a revolution but that wasn't really an accident was it? Have you ever started a riot? We should do that. Our name tags could be sketched in dissonant ink and read 'Lie Until It Becomes The Truth'. I think we could find something there...maybe something we never even knew we were looking for.
