In the competitive climate of today’s music industry, it’s often difficult for independent artists to get the proverbial “leg up.†Promoting an independently released album is next to impossible without the proper tools and experience.
While many artists can benefit from the services of a publicist, most can't afford or don’t need the extensive services of a big-name publicist. Many developing artists can benefit more from a smaller, more focused publicity campaign that is not only effective, but affordable.
That’s where BLACK LODGE PR comes in. As a smaller, boutique firm, we have the advantage of being able to be extremely hands-on with each client as we work towards the best possible results for their career, and can tailor a package to meet the needs of our artists on a case-by-case basis.
And best of all, we're musicians ourselves. We've been there and done that. There's very few experiences a client can have that we can't relate to, and that provides us with a unique perspective, being able to see things from both "sides of the table."
Plese get in touch for more information on how we can help you!

Jeff Breil has spent over five years running an independent record label, as well as working in various other capacities in the music industry. As a freelance writer, Breil has written bios for dozens of artists. A skilled graphic artist as well, Breil’s portfolio includes work for bands big and small alike, including: COHEED AND CAMBRIA, AUGUST BURNS RED, THE PINK SPIDERS, UNEARTH and many, many more. As a musician, Breil fronts the post-punk rock band SADAHARU. The band has released three lauded full-length albums and toured the US well over a dozen times, playing over 400 shows and sharing the stage with many artists who are now household names in the process. Breil has an almost encyclopedic knowledge of Spider-Man trivia, is vehemently pro-beard and enjoys nothing more than watching a baseball game with a cold beer.
Jeff Royer has over eight years of experience as Music Editor and Editor-in-Chief of Fly Magazine, a respected music and entertainment publication covering Central Pennsylvania. In that period of time, Royer has interviewed and written about thousands of bands (after being pestered by pesky PR people like ourselves), as diversified as DAVID BOWIE, KELLY CLARKSON, IAN MACKAYE and JA RULE. As a musician, Royer has toured the US and Europe as the bassist/co-vocalist of indie-rockers MOVIES WITH HEROES. Unlike Breil, Royer takes a decidedly less passionate (some would say fence-straddling) position on beards, believing in a person’s right to choose. He has more pets in his house than a sane person should (maintaining a solid pet-per-room ratio of .83) and has an overwhelming dislike of people who drive Hummers.
