About Me

Guitarist, singer, songwriter Craig Claxton has a reputation as a versatile and creative guitarist . A veteran of over 2,000 gigs including live performances , recording sessions for TV, Cinema and Radio, teaching and guitar workshops.
Craig has appeared @ The East Coast Blues Festival, Byron Bay, The Brisbane Blues Festival, The Sunshine Coast Blues Festival, The Woodford Folk Festival, Purga Creek, The Samford Blues Festival, The Gympie Muster, The Broadbeach Blues Festival, The Noosa Jazz and Blues Festival, The Brisbane Jazz and Blues Festival, The Rockhampton Big River Jazz Festival amongst others.
Craig is currently gigging with Australian Blues and Rhythm legend Mick Hadley in The Atomic Boogie Band, as well as R&B band The Mercurys and acoustic trio Bridget's Blues Bus with legendary Soul blues singer Bridget O'Donoghue and guitarist/ singer extraordinaire Tim Gaze. Craig also performs with Lina - the band with Caroline Hammond.
Craig frequently hosted masterclasses over the years which have included legendary New York jazz guitarist Mike Stern, Bob Brozman, Eric Johnson, The Hellecasters, Billy Sheehan, Tony McManus, Kirk Lorange, Jim Kelly, Rex Goh, James Muller, Michael Fix, Flying Burrito Brother John Beland and many more.
Other musical ventures have included ,Melbourne blues singer Chris Wilson, Australian Blues Singer of the Year "Lil Fi", JV and The Fabulous Electric Blue Chameleons, The Carol Lloyd Band, Brian Cadd,The Purple Hearts, Wendy Saddington and a series of 'Celebration of Guitar' concerts featuring US session legend Louie Shelton, Peter Cupples, Kirk Lorange, Cameron Ford and fingerstyle genius Michael Fix among others.
Craig produced the debut CD from Brisbane singer songwriter Caroline Hammond (myspace.com/linahammond) and opened a new guitar shop in Red Hill Brisbane called "GUITAR BROTHERS". Specializing in interesting, eclectic and hard to find instruments, GUITAR BROTHERS is proud to be an old style Guitar Shop (not a Guitar Store!). Workshops/masterclasses/repairs/sales/advice and funky guitars.
In June 2007 Guitar Brothers hosted the first annual Brisbane Guitar Amp & Vintage Show at Brisbane City Hall.
