I am just another artist strapped for cash. Pinching pennies trying to save up for more material to record with, for a better guitar. Or maybe even to record in a professional studio someday. I grow. I watch the world go by each day wondering. My imagination bouncing around inside an empty barrel as I try to convince my pencil to write. This is what I’ve managed to come up with.
I was born on what my father describes to be the coldest night of December that ever graced Toronto. My whole life I’ve known I was destined for the music world, but unlike many young children who, by their parents, were forcefully plunged head first into music theory and Chopin, I was never trained. Everything musical I’ve ever done has been by ear, and I still can’t read music to this day.
I am a very un-egotistical person. I just made this for fun; my recordings are extremely unprofessional: done in my own room and later edited with Cool Edit.
I’d like to thank my parents, for never forcing music down my throat, thus enabling me with the free imagination one needs to create music that is completely their own. I’d like to thank my friends, for listening to the crappy songs until finally telling me I’d made a good one. I'd like to thank Andrew Onorati for lending his guitar for "Gravedigger", I’d like to thank Jeff Garriock for the bass and recording skills needed to record “Californiaâ€, and lastly, I’d like to thank my guitarist and boyfriend, Grant Humphries. You are my muse, and my love. If we had never met, God only knows where my music would have ended up.
