The foundation of my life is based on pipe dreaming and I use all doubt and disbelief to fuel my motivation.

Still in its infant stages, Akira Takashi has began to be recognized around Ohio area, and many other states, as what could be one of the Midwest’s best forthcoming fashion lines. With continual focus on innovative fashion , the embodiment of the brand is to create fashionable couture art. Though creating women’s clothes has been the foundation of Akira Takashi’s birth, creating women’s shoes has always been the main passion of designer and creator Akira Burgess.
Born and raised in Columbus Ohio, Akira has always had a passion for art in all forms. At the toddling age of 3 he began drawing and as a pre-teen began sewing. Soon into his early teenage years he began sketching women’s heels. With an immediate eye for women’s fashion he began going to the mall with his female friends as somewhat a personal stylist. Though as time progressed he became less content with fashion as everything began to look more and more monotonous so in turn he began customizing clothing not only for himself but his friend. Customizing eventually evolved into, what he is more recently known for, sewing and creating custom pieces.
Though he is inspired by some of the more famous designers he does not model his creations after others. He likes to find new ways to create new pieces whether it be a gown or a pair of pumps. Since his main passion has always been to create women’s heels he has continued to make the pursuit of knowledge for cobblering women’s shoes the pinnacle of his focus. As he continues to chase the knowledge needed he continues to find new outlets and explore new arenas surrounding his love of shoes, such as customizing women’s shoes. He has even gone as far as to name the line of customized women’s shoe’s Suga Pumps, themed after the more sweet even almost sinful indulgences.
Continuing his quest to build a fashion empire Akira has been invited to do a number of fashion shows including the Champagne and Cool Jazz Fashion Show at BOMA and the Signature Essence Fashion show in Houston Texas. As Akira Takashi is the respectably watched designers main focal point he also supports other innovative movements such as JWork Ltd. and Mirrorlove Productions, providing anything requested from designing services to event attendance.
As his fashion sketching continues to evolve so did his passion and outlook. He has procured a passion so overtaking earlier in 2007 he decided to quit his job and strive for his goal fulltime. With plans to attend The Shoemaking School of Puccio and Mackay, in early 2008, a business plan, sketch pad and a dream Akira Burgess journeys to coordinate the beginning of what will soon be forthcoming and illustrious reality.
