The album 'Orientissime' from Thione seck, released in June 2005, has been for six consecutive weeks ranked number 2 in the 'World Music Album Chart' managed by fifteen European radios including the BBC. The first Cantos'compilation, 'From Dakar to Cuba', received a prize from French leading cultural magazine Telerama.
After only one year of existence, Cantos has been ranked 15th World Music label in a worldwide ranking of 350 labels, ahead of mong established World Music labels.
Cantos initially focused on African Music, notably thanks to its partnership with Ibrahima Sylla from Syllart Productions, the leading African producer (Youssou N'Dour, Salif Keita, Ismaël Lô, etc), and is currently broadening its catalogue to Asia (India), North Africa, West Indies and Latin America.
Our music is available on iTunes and other leading digital web stores.
