About Me

I am a photographer, heavily influenced by two diametric styles. 1930's & 40's Documentary FSA, which strove to capture people and places realistically in their environments, and cinema mise-en-scene, where every attention to detail is perfected. However, both styles strive to tell a story within a single frame.

My grandfather gave me my first camera when I was 8 years old. When I was 12, I took it apart to see how it worked and couldn't put it back together. I took a few photography classes, but really trained my eye with my parents old Canon AE-1, a 35 year old metal body camera I still own and shoot with... OK OK I've gone digital in the last few months... most of the stuff you see is digital.

I prefer to photograph real people in everyday environments, places that they feel represents their soul. I don't believe in heavy lighting unless it is for a certain effect. However, I still like to spend hours in photoshop perfecting the look of an image to give everything its own unique quality.
I am also a film editor, cinematographer, graphic and web designer.
