Stijn Van Nuffelen (aka Jasper) is together with Florence Atlas the main force behind Out Soon , Belgium's leading dance music magazine. He also hosted the Funk You! parties at Club Zazou in the city of Lier, small events that were well known for their unique underground party atmosphere. Some clubbers liked to compare the parties to the famous house parties from the late eighties, early nineties… a nice and relaxed party crowd, no dresscode, no VIP area, no bullshit, no aggression, no hypes… just quality electronic dance music and having fun all night long :) Started in 2001 with the best funky breakbeats and funky house music, mixed by Ed&Kim and over the years evolved to all good electronic dance music, Funk You! has invited some of Belgium's most open minded deejays. The very last Funk You! party at Club Zazou on April 23, 2005 with a legendary all night long set by Jan Van Biesen vs Ed&Kim is still considered by many as one of the best parties of 2005. As Club Zazou had to close its doors in 2005, Funk You! searched a very long time to find a location in the city of Lier to host one more party. On November 11th 2006, a small venue called Saltatore was the place to be for one night and Jan Van Biesen and Ed&Kim - again - rocked the place all night long! In October 2007, Stijn hosted an area at SoulShine Festival in Boechout (near Antwerp) to celebrate the 6th anniversary of the Funk You! concept, with superb sets by Ed&Kim, Smos & Baby Bee and Jan Van Biesen. As there are no appropriate locations left in the city of Lier, the crew has decided to stop organizing Funk You! parties and will only throw small, free entrance events every now and then in the neighborhood of Lier. Be sure to check this myspace profile for exact date and place!
