Summer, you gotta love it. Nothing like blue skies, warm weather, sexy ladies and vitamin D. Not to mention more oppurtunities for film'n.
It was a real treat for me today. I was reunited with an old friend, the HVX200 with Mini35 lens adaptor. I had forgoten the power of these two machines when combined, I also forgot how heavy it was, damn.
The subject for the video, BBoy'n of course.
It's so hard to go back to standard def after using Mini 35. The depth of field you accomplish with Mini 35 is just so attracting to the eye.
I'll tell the truth, today wasn't the best of shoots. I wish I could have used the camera to it's full potential, but it was hot out and dancing in the sun on hot cement just drained us. At least we still had fun.
BBoy'ing has become a large part of my life. The new lifestyle is interesting and I can't wait learn more about Hip Hop Culture. As long as the music keeps playing, I'll keep rock'n da the beat. Shout out to my boy Kato, for joining me on this experience.

After coming home from Prince Rupert, I still had access to a camera. Finally, an oppurtunity to shoot something that I find interesting. BBOY'N!
Kato, Ron-Solo and I got together that day and spent it downtown. We were dancing for 5 hours at Robson Sqaure, as well as taking pictures and getting some aweome footage.
Summer is finally here ladies and gentlemen. So raise a glass if you have one near by and toast with me. To summer!

Raid The North Extreme (www.raidthenorth.com)
I was pulled from shooting the rally in Quebec, to film an adventure race in the Queen Charlottes of Northern British Columbia. The race comprised of paddling, cycling and trekking on foot. All teams (4/team) have until Saturday to reach the finish line - 6 full days to complete the +/- 500km course.
Apparently ATV was contacted my Global TV, and was asked that we shoot and edit a 1hr documentary on this race. I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but it sure was fun.
Everything started off smoothly, we all got acquainted, teams introduced one another, sushi and refreshments for everyone. And after doing some interviews with the teams, we all made our way onto the ferry.
Start of the race. Waiting for 23 teams on bikes to pass me.
Seven long hours on a ferry. All we did was interview the teams, it was time for some much desereved sleep.
It was utter chaos. Unloading all the team's equipment, rationing supplies and navigating over several maps. I was told to expect this job to be like the rallies. Sit in the bush and wait for some races to come by.
Haha, I've never been stuck in an elevator before. We didn't notice the digustingly huge sign that said '4 People Maximum', we had six. All in all I found it funny. We were stuck for a good 20mnin, losing air, and getting hungry, oh so, very hungry. Ahem...
By now we've slepted in our car rentals for a few nights. Haven't showered, or brushed my teeth. My diet consisting of anything in bar form and water and my arm covered in bug bites. Hey, if you dont like it go home. I was having a blast, some sleep deprivation too, but didn't stop me.
This whole trip was probably the closest thing to camping I've ever done. I can't wait for the next one. When you get to travel, see new parts of the world, meet new people, make new friends and get to film some wicked stuff, I realize how lucky I am to be working with ATV.
