lent her velvety voice to CHRISTMAS AKADEMIE for this recording. ROBERT LINGNAU , Berlin, wrote the fine arrangement, was the musical director and plays electric bass. The lovely children's choir is the BERLINER KINDERCHOR (BERLIN CHILDREN'S CHOIR) directed by Veronika Pietsch. The song was written and produced by Matthias Arft, Hamburg, and finally recorded at MARCUS FRITZSCH' PLAYGROUND STUDIO in Berlin. This year Marcus recorded the piano version ( vcl Marcus Fritzsch, p Lydia Gorstein). More about the musicians of CHRISTMAS AKADEMIE on WWW.ARFT.DE
Influences: Great musical standards for Christmas, e.g. Irving Berlin's "White Christmas" in the interpretation of Bing Crosby.
Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime."
Johann Sebastian Bach's "Christmas Oratorio" from 1734. The first Chorus "Jauchzet, frohlocket!" (Rejoice, exult!). Spanish baroque composer
Juan Francés de Iribarren: "Viendo que Jil, hizo raya" (Since Jil caused a stir) from 1745. It is the only Christmas composition we know where castanets are used.
