Living the dream

About Me

"Living the dream," is something I say to my friends when we've been working sixteen hours on set and feel like shit, wondering what the hell we got into the movie business for in the first place.
"How are you doing?" someone asks me. As I bend over and pick up a heavy-ass hundred pounds of lighting cable and throw it over my shoulder, thinking about how it's probably going to give me spinal disk degeneration, the only answer is that I'm "living the dream."
Money is just paper. I put value on experiences instead. Decided a while ago to quit trying to accumulate things. They just weigh me down.
I live in Los Angeles most of the year, well most of last year. I'm in Bangkok now.
I try to live my life like it's about to be over. No regrets if I die tomorrow. No interest in slaving away for some corporate behemoth. I work a few months and take off for the same.
I do a lot of different things, go a lot of different places. I take advantage of the system when I can, and I enjoy the thrill of danger. Sometimes wonder what I'm doing here.
When I go on vacation I like to go really far away for a really long time, preferably a third world country. When I get there I want to learn something, do something physical, not just lay around on some boring beach.
I can't stand cars and traffic. And I especially can't stand people who can't stop talking about their cars. Blechh. I don't even own one. Never again.
Adrenaline is my drug of choice.

Here's a video I directed, shot, edited: Magdalen
And another one I shot with a different director: Freakshow
And this one I just shot the live action part: Win or Lose
Finally, this is the first video I shot in Bangkok.: Talk Shit

My Interests

surfing, acrobatics, circus, muay thai, rock climbing, diving, snowboarding, jiu-jitsu, yoga, film-making, photography, motorcycles, going fast, eating papaya salad, eskrima, acting, dance, tae kwon do, swords, fire, jumping off of things, making an idiot of myself

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who thinks like I do. Someone to travel to far off places with. Someone as addicted to physical challenges as I am. Maybe even someone to perform with.
A girl
Wondering why I didn't approve your friend request? It's probably because:
(1) You are trying to sell me some crappy t-shirts or a movie or something else I don't want or need.
(2) You have a very nice picture up on your page along with some vague comments that mean nothing and an email address; I've concluded that you are a useless spammer.
(3) You are trying to advertise your suck-ass band. Your band sucks, that's why nobody listens to you. Why don't you go try out for a reality show or something and quit bothering me?
(4) You have a picture of yourself half-naked on your page, and you have 7,000 friends, all male. The guys have put pictures of their badly shaved chests up along with comments like "Yo yo wassup girl." You figure it out.
(5) You are thousands of miles away from me and you haven't even bothered sending me a note of explanation along with your friend request.
(6) DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE VAST MAJORITY OF MY MYSPACE FRIEND REQUESTS ARE NOW SPAM, I NO LONGER EVEN LOOK AT THEM. IF YOU WISH TO ADD ME AS A FRIEND YOU WILL HAVE TO SEND A MESSAGE.

Destructive testing of aerial fabric
