I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Neo-vegetarian; Jewelry designer (www.medicinebeads.com); Love to cook and eat delicious food; Proud mom of two dogs and three cats (all rescues); Baby boomer flower child woman; Sometime actress in local productions; Occasional photographer; All-the-time animal lover.
*** I am a work in progress. ***
Kindness is my (only) religion. The old growth forest behind our house is my cathedral. Trees make me feel sheltered and happy.
By day (and often by night as well), I run a small town in New Jersey. I like making a positive difference but I hate the politics. I play the lottery in hopes of retiring sooner and living as a jewelry artisan (while cooking for everyone I love and caring for a zillion animals). I am a Taurus, typically stubborn about some things and a lover of beauty.
I don't mind getting older, and think I'm improving with age.
I used to write poetry. Now, I write laws. (Hopefully there is some poetry to them.)
I love being alive.
Check out my blog - APHRODISIA. Great recipes and original poetry ... all poems are copyrighted by me.
You Are a Dreaming Soul
Your vivid emotions and imagination takes you away from this world ... so much so that you tend to live in your head most of the time
You have great dreams and ambitions that could be the envy of all... But for you, following through with your dreams is a bit difficult
You are charming, endearing, and people tend to love you. Forgiving and tolerant, you see the world through rose colored glasses.
Underneath it all, you have a ton of passion that you hide from others.
Always hopeful, you tend to expect positive outcomes in your life.
Souls you are most compatible with: Newborn Soul, Prophet Soul, and Traveler Soul What Kind of Soul Are You?

My Interests

Nature, animals, cooking, eBay, music, writing, making healing gemstone jewelry. Check out my website at www.medicinebeads.com.

I'd like to meet:

My mother and my sister for lunch and a card game. My dad for a real chat, grownup to grownup (never had that chance). My soulmate cat, Pumpkin -- anywhere, anytime. And now, my cousin Nora and my brother Frankie, both of whom who recently died. I miss them all so much.Oh ... and THIS ELEPHANT:

Music:

Arlo Guthrie; Tracy Grammer; Bob Dylan; Yo Yo Ma; Emmylou Harris; Lyle Lovett; Bonnie Raitt; Nanci Griffith; Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion; Four Men and a Dog; John Hiatt; John Prine; Patty Griffin; Lucy Kaplansky; Steve Earle; Shawn Colvin; Lucinda Williams; Mary Chapin Carpenter; Dixie Chicks; Indigo Girls; Maura O'Connell; Natalie MacMaster; David Bromberg; Joanne Shenandoah; Michelle Shocked; and much much more ...

Movies:

Howl's Moving Castle; Whale Rider; The Brothers McMillan; The Gangs of New York; My Cousin Vinnie; And Justice For All; The Color of Money; anything with Gene Wilder; I'll add more as I think of them ... but for some reason I forget most movies after I've seen them!

Television:

Yankees games, The Riches, Animal Planet, Sunrise Earth on Discovery HD; news if I can stand it ... that's about it! I don't watch much.

Books:

I love the CONCEPT of books. I love having books. I love buying books, shopping for books, having a lot of books on my shelf and on my nightstand. I love knowing that they are there for me to read ... someday. I don't often actually READ them, however. No time, and it makes me sleepy when I do. Now and then I finish a book and always enjoy it, but ... I acquire them MUCH faster than I read them!

Heroes:

My mom and my sister (both gone now).
