Can Göktürk was born in Istanbul (Turkey) in 1987. His father also a musician, he started music in his early childhood by playing the piano. He started Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts, State Conservatory in 1998, and began taking courses on the bassoon from his teacher, Prof. Mehmet Ali Boguç. He was awarded with the 1st prize in the bassoon section in the international competition held in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, in 2001. Having participated in several album recordings, Can Göktürk, besides his training on the bassoon, has been studying on jazz harmony with Kamil Özler since 2005. He has also been taking courses on the counterpoint from Ahmet Altinel, and classical harmony from Volkan Barut since 2006.
