Solo and friends - A Walk in my Shoes
Solo & Friends - A Walk in my Shoes
I am currently working on a solo album. It's going to be a mix of different styles. Blues, Rock, Jazz a bit of ballads and even a little country mixed in there.
I am writing and arranging all the songs. And I'm also going to be playing most of the instruments on it. For the tracks I either can't or shouldn't do, I'll be inviting friends on board to lay down their respective parts.
Some of the songs on it were written quite a long time ago and were just sitting in my little blue book just waiting for inspiration. Well that happened when Gone Wild was born and a taste in the studio became an addiction. A few songs are written so far but time is your friend when you don't have a deadline to meet so I'm not expecting to have this finished until at least the end of next year. It's a long time wish I've had to do a solo album and now I'm on track to achieving this.
Some of my songs can be heard at

and when I have a few to sample they'll be at

Battle of the Bottle is one of the written tracks I mentioned. There is another I wrote for Dr Hoos called "Skinny The Fish." which will be recorded by my blues band Don't Ask.
"Hollywood Sam" will also be done this way.
A new song "I wasn't Looking" was penned as a result of my dad passing away. It was written in the wee hours of a sleepless night and the guitar almost wrote it for me.
I will be updating this section on an as happens basis so keep popping back for a look see.
Track Listing to date: ( In no particular order )

I like Classic Rock, Blues, some jazz, Hard rock, and bass players.
Star Wars, Star Trek, Star Gate. Hmmmmm I see a theme going on here. The Scary Movies, anything that makes me smile.
Heroes is pretty cool, Stargate Atlantis, SiFi actually. Head being in the clouds in all. Funny ones. Otherwise I don't watch a whole lot of TV
Manuals on the latest equipment I just bought. Otherwise I'm more into the fantasy type novels.
My mum.
