Jordan Hart, along with Alex (aka Change) and Dfunkdamager, comprise the DJ / Producer collective better known as Positive Response. Armed with extraordinary turntable techniques, unquestionable party-rockin' abilities, top-notch tune selection, and razor-sharp production chops, PR surely sets itself apart from every other collective in the Bay area. While most DJs keep themselves busy with one facet of dance music, these boys have made a name for themselves by breaking down the barriers between musical genres and defying conventional wisdom of modern DJ culture. If you're lucky enough to catch one of their sets, you'll likely hear deep funk sprinkled amongst early NY rap, along with post-disco weaving in and out of Baltimore Club, all the way to chunky electronic breaks mixed with glitchy French Dance rhythms. Their "no walls" approach to DJ'ing came mostly from a deep admiration for the Ninja Tune label (especially Coldcut's classic mixtape "Journeys by a DJ: 70 Minutes of Madness"), and present day party rockers such as Z-Trip, Diplo and A-Trak.
These three artists are no strangers to the spotlight, as they've shared stages with the likes of Jurassic 5, Talib Kweli, DJ Krush (Japan), Kid Koala, John B, Public Enemy's DJ Lord, APSCI, DJ Monk (R.I.T.M.), The AB's (fka Asamov), Keith Mackenzie & Fixx, J-Break, Sharaz, Brian Van Dalen, Noisa (Renegade Hardware), DJ SPS, MC Collaborator and many more.
Dfunkdamager has continually proved himself as the Bay's premier turntablist, taking home the Tampa Guitar Center's DJ Battle Championship in 2004 and 2005. Jordan Hart never fails to brings the funk each and every night he graces the decks at Tampa Bay (and beyond) hot spots such as Fly Bar, Whiskey SoHo and many others. Alex Hart, a.k.a. Change, has quickly established himself as one of the finest young producers around, intelligently utilizing the vast array of sounds and samples made available to him through the collective's deep crates.
As if they weren't busy enough, the boys are also affiliated with local music scene kingpins- Tastemakers (Best Music Series 2005, Weekly Planet).
