Ol’Skool. A nickname given to Lang by Academy Award Winner Jamie Foxx. Lang was born in Hollywood Florida the youngest of seven children. After serving eight years in the military and being honorable discharged he returned to his residency of South Florida, here is when he discovered big- budget Hollywood films such as Police Academy 5, Let it Ride and Miami Vice TV series.Lang saw the potential of South Florida’s growth in the motion picture industry, not just as location but also as a corporate growth of this billion-dollar industry. He not only discovered Hollywood Filmmaking but the potential of South Florida talent behind the scene as well as on the screen.Immediately he signed on with most of the local, non-union talent Agencies, both to gain additional income and to satisfy his growing interest in the motion picture industry. Lang continued to take other jobs as an extra, using the experience to further his knowledge of behind-the-scenes movie making. On the set of Police Academy 5 he happened upon a copy of the script and thought, “If they can make this screenplay into a movie, I can write a blockbusterâ€. Lang then decided to invest in his future by purchasing a word processor. This was the beginning of an exciting journey on the road to becoming a Screenplay Writer/Producer/DirectorDespite the fact that none of the top agencies in Los Angeles were interested in either Lang or his screenplays, he continued writing and networking, refusing to abandon his dream. It wasn’t until being on the set of the movie “Any Given Sundayâ€, starring Al Pacino and Jamie Foxx is when he decided to take that journey to Hollywood California to represent South Florida as a residential Filmmaker.
Lang started his networking strategy hours after landing on the west coast of Los Angeles and never looked back. Needless to say he represented South Florida well and brought South Florida the hit movie “All About the Benjaminsâ€. A movie that came in at number two during the box office first week.Since then Lang has been recognized and awarded by the IFP (Independent Film Project) of Miami for his achievement and also by the Miami Herald as local Dream and Doer.Lang is currently in Development stages to shoot on location in Miami his next up and coming project titled “Do What You Gotta Doâ€.Lang has another project he’s looking to Produce another movie in New Yiork titled "The Lost Don" after discovering two South Floridians, one a talented writer and police officer with the City of Pembroke Pines; and the other a great story teller and hairstylist from the City of Hollywood. It is Lang’s dream to turn South Florida into a BILLION DOLLAR HOME BASE MOTION PICTURE INDUSTRY, and he will, with a project that he presented to close friend Academy Award Winner Jamie Foxx. A project that definitely has OSCAR winning potential, a project that will be shot on location in Northern Florida.
