About Me

I just won a Gold ADDY Award and 4 Telly Awards my first spec commercial! I'm really happy about it. Let me know what you think. Here it is:I'm an actor turned writer-director who's here to make movies, and to meet other great people who want in on the action; and who may want to collaborate together in the future. This is what I love. I hate wearing ties. If I ever have to wear one to work, I'll consider myself a failure. If I had to wear one and whore myself in some completely mundane, uncreative, uninteresting, soul-crushing life selling cars or insurance or something... I'd probably end up hanging myself with it.Here's a clip from my short film, where I get caught getting a beat-down on a security camera... (Above is a scene from my new short film called, "Kicking Sand in Your Face". It's in post-production, and I'll keep you all posted on it!!) (Here's a little movie I put together about when I was born, and what, if any, significance there was with me coming into the picture. The volume on the voiceover is pretty low, so you may have to crank it up a little. ) Enjoy!! :) Here's a short dream sequence that I appeared in from, "Family Tree". Here is a trailer for a film the I Co-Produced, "Outdoorsmen: Blood, Sweat, and Beers"... Here's a little comedy short that I made and acted in for fun...Here are a few little clips from an old acting reel of mine that I just found. The picture is tiny for some bizarro reason (I'm too impatient to try to fix it.), but I thought it was pretty amusing. Enjoy! :) Here's the opening sequence that I made for the Merrill Davis Show on www.thestream.tvClick on this button below to make your voice heard... Make a difference, however you can. Click on the, "I'm Good." button...

My Interests

Movies, photography, watching great actors do their thing, propaganda art and films, laughing, experimental art of all kinds, politics, Seattle Seahawks, Japanese animation, dreams, Gnosticism, mythology, Jungian Psychology, entheogens, travel, all things ancient, home-brewing my own beer and ale, good food, good coffee, the outdoors, reading, travel, etc. I'm a big fan and supporter of KCRW and National Public Radio. I love the art and paintings of Edward Gorey, Paul Laffoley, Pedro Kastro, Clive Barker, Fernando Apodaca, H.R. Giger, and Alex Grey. I often think the most profound things are simply stated. I'm really into cool quotes. A couple of my favorites: "We will either find a way, or we will make one." -Hannibal "I will seize destiny by the throat!" -Beethoven "Fall Down seven times, stand up eight." -Japanese proverb. "An intellectual is a man who says a simple thing in a difficult way; an artist is a man who says a difficult thing in a simple way." -Charles Bukowski

I'd like to meet:

Smart, driven, fun, funny, open-minded, and creative people who want to make a difference and express themselves in a new and original way. I want to meet people who want to make things happen, and are more action than talk. I want to be around and work with people who care, and want to be a part of something bigger than themselves, not people who just want to make themselves bigger.

Music:

Tool (the thinking man’s metal), Soundgarden, Nick Cave, Audioslave, Gillian Welch, Neko Case, Beethoven, Jane’s Addiction, Massive Attack, Wagner, Metallica, Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, Alice in Chains, Jose Gonzales, Led Zeppelin, The Police, Guster, Mad Season, DJ Shadow, Nirvana, Feist, The Cult, John Lennon, Black Sabbath, Pearl Jam, Thievery Corporation, Wolfmother, Dead Can Dance, Slayer, The Cure, Sigur Ros, Bjork, Plastikman.

Movies:

Baraka, No Country For Old Men, Children of Men, Reservoir Dogs, Apocalypse Now, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Blood Simple, Dreams, Raising Arizona, Alien, Aliens, Animal House, American Movie, Raging Bull, Unforgiven, The Thing, Pee Wees Big Adventure, 2001 A Space Odyssey, The Holy Mountain, Anything with Peter Sellers, Bill Murray, or Bruce Campbell in it, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (hilarious!), Rocky (Only the first one!), The Natural, Waking Life, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, The Road Warrior, Pulp Fiction, The Deer Hunter, Three O'Clock High, The Straight Story, Once Upon a Time in the West, Cool Hand Luke, and Evil Dead 2.Also, The Century of The Self, and The Power of Nightmares are two of the best documentaries I've ever seen.If Will Smith, Keanu Reeves, or Adam Sandler is in it, chances are good that I won't watch it.Napoleon Dynamite and The Boondock Saints are without a doubt... the most retarded movies ever made.

Television:

Family Guy,The Office (BBC version), American Dad, Venture Brothers, Curb Your Enthusiasm, In Treatment, The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, The Twilight Zone, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Real Time with Bill Maher, and all things History Channel. I think Fox News is for inbred trailer dwellers. Reality TV shows disgust me.

Books:

The Road, Ham on Rye, Post Office, Man and His Symbols, No Beast So Fierce, The Killer Inside Me, Memories Dreams Reflections, The War of Art (not The Art of War), Jarhead, Siddhartha, Boleslavsky's "Acting", Emerson's "Self-Reliance" & "Civil Disobedience", The Politics of Self Determination, Prometheus Rising, Walden, Seven Simple Steps to Personal Freedom, 1984, The Doors of Perception. Greek & Arthurian myths, and all Nietzsche (What a total bad-ass!). Short stories by Roald Dahl and Barry Yourgrau are amazing, too.

Heroes:

Charles Bukowski, Marlon Brando, Lee Strasberg, Bruce Lee* & Harrison Ford* (*childhood heroes), Beethoven, Joseph Campbell, Carl Jung, Bill Hicks, Keith Olbermann, Stephen Colbert, Timothy Leary, Wesley Clark, Cindy Sheehan, Pat Tillman (The guy quit the NFL to fight in Afghanistan AND to speak out against the war in Iraq. No wonder he had to go... ) Brock Samson(of course), Martin Luther King, Jr., Martin Luther, Emerson, Thomas Paine, all the guys who signed the Declaration of Independence, Douglas Dirkson (my first acting teacher), the guys who fought World War Two, the people who fought against and protested Bush’s retarded and deceitful war in Iraq, my Mom, and my Grampa.
