The Sweep

The Sweep formed in the summer of 06, featuring several long time veterans of the Cincinnati music scene. The group has enjoyed a very natural chemistry from the very first jam session, making collaboration almost effortless. In the two years the Sweep has been Rockin, they have built a in home studio and recorded over 35 original songs. Summer 08 marks the release of their first full length release "It's warm under the dragons wing". A Record written and recorded in their HQ the M house. The Sweep is truly an inspired band, cranking out indie-rock tunes at a feverish pace. Calling on influence from fellow Ohio natives Guided by voices, to more current rock acts such as the National, the Shins, Band of Horses, Black Mountain. Other influences include Motown recordings, Elvis Costello, Bob Dylan, Fugazi, Daniel Johnston. and The Clash. This band of dedicated musicians have played all over the mid-west. These fellows are the definition of hungry. Eagerly searching for someone to get behind their vision, and enable them to produce the kind of records that our ipod culture has sadly long forgotten.
