About Me

If banjos were balloons, this might be the sound.

It's the unrequited love of a zombie. It's the plunk of a banjo string pulled too tight. It's waking up from a dream where your mom is on a train with monks, staring at thousands of Stevie Nicks being rustled into cattle cars. It's an icicle melting when heat makes her hydrogen swoon.
Here's the ColumbusAlive take on what I sound like:
"Just when you thought Columbus Discount Records had all their bases covered, in walks Jordan O Jordan. While the label would be correct in calling Jordan O Jordan their first bona-fide folk singer, his debut disc, Not Style, Nor Season, Nor Hard Handed Lesson, reveals a wealth of talent poured into other molds distinctly his own.
Armed with either banjo, autoharp, piano or acoustic guitar, Jordan makes a mockery of most singer/songwriter saps by crafting irresistible vaudeville entertainment out of lifes mundane grind and his own whimsical imagination. Everyone from Woody Guthrie and Tiny Tim to Devendra Banhart and Raffi share space in Jordans mind, making for an album that effortlessly juggles humor, drama, sharp wit and lyrical poetry into an assemblage of short stories that demand repeat listens for their full emotional impact.
Sparse as a man and his muse may sound in print, the production team enlisted a host of hometown players to accent the proceedings with a bit of violin here and a choir of la-la-las there, making the recordings feel more like a grand event rather than impromptu late-night sessions. But at its heart, the album is purely Jordan O Jordan, whether hes lamenting a lover who wont kiss in public (The Ghost of Andy Pratt), singing a love song to the birthplace that never truly took him in (Waverly, Ohio) or a love/hate soliloquy directed at himself (A Towns Reply to a Banjo), his voice rises above all. Kevin Elliott"

Thank You, Mr. Elliott. You are too kind.
Also dear friends, if you'd like to purchase some music, "Not Style..." is on iTunes. For other JO'J recordings (old stuff, new stuff, red stuff, blue stuff), email me at jordan.o.jordan(at)gmail.com.
