A brief musical history ! I was in a band called BonBooshe from 1986 to 1993 and we recorded loads of stuff which never got released. We did however get to support Gary Numan on 3 dates of his 'Isolate' tour in 1992 which was a great experience.
In 1993 Bonbooshe disbanded and I joined Glasshouse with Geoff and Ian Davies and spent 3 years with them recording, gigging and also supporting Gary Numan again on his 1996 'Premier Hits' tour at the London Astoria. In 1996 I left Glasshouse and joined a band called Shockwork who were an industrial/electro band. Shockwork were a very chaotic live act and we had great fun playing all over the UK. This culminated in a totally mental headlining gig at Redhill's Harlequin Theatre where I first invented the now legendary 'Diddy Dance' !
Shockwork came to the attention of a German label called Subtronic who had licensed the track 'Blood Rhythm' on one of their compilations and offered the band an album deal as a result.Shockwork chose to work with Ade Orange as co-producer and the album was finished with one track also co-produced by Gary Numan. It was entitled 'Looking For The Priest' but was never released as Subtronic went bust. The band struggled to recover from this blow and I left to form Dig with Ade Orange and Steve Harris in early 1998.
Our first live dates with Dig came when we supported John Foxx & Louis Gordon on their 1998 'Subterranean Omnidelic Exotour' around the UK.
Dig then had to change names to en as there was already a band called Dig in the USA. We released a limited edition CD single called 'While You Were Sleeping' in early 1999 and also recorded a cover of the David Bowie classic 'Life On Mars' for a tribute compilation entitled 'Diamond Gods'.
In 2004 I got in contact with Geoff again after several years and we ended working on some new material with him which became Alien 6. Geoff had just released an album called 'Establishing Alpha' which saw him write in many different styles away from the more regimented sound of The Nine. In 2005 we decided to recruit a female singer and found the wonderful talents of Laura Cyganik who is now an integral part of Alien 6. We have now also been joined by the excellent Mr Eddie Cresdee who has been working his wonders on various remixes for both Alien 6 & tenek.
The latest news is that Geoff Pinckney and myself have started a new darker electronic based project called tenek which you can check out by clicking on the banner below. We have recently released our debut ep which is a limited edition of 200 with very few left now. Please go to our profile to hear the featured tracks and you can also order one from there too. Geoff and myself are currently writing tracks for our album which will be called 'Stateless'. Gigs are also planned in both the UK and Europe in 2008, more news soon.
