KraiseD At The ROXY THEATER August 2007
It all began in 2000 for this compound of musical madmen. Hailing from Phoenix, AZ, Kraised was formed by singer Tony Noyes aka "Tones" and double-bass drum virtuoso Kelly Knight. Later the next year they released a 3 song demo titled "Demo 2001" which was produced by musician/producer Stu Simone, of "Poison" fame. The band received a great response to the demo, and was welcomed by local radio shows and many internet radio stations. Many shows followed, and Kraised was starting to develop a reputation for their energetic, unpredictable live shows as well as the songs themselves.
In 2002 the band decided it would be a great time to get into the studio again and finally produce a full length CD! With the help of good friend/producer Jaxxon Schwarz of Frankie's Palace Studios, and a year of work, Kraised was able to record an impressive CD titled "Haywire Logic"(2003). The CD proved to be a local hit, and the band won a few local battle of the bands including the coveted "Phoenix's Best Metal Band" at the Keyboard City Local Music Awards. The members of Kraised truly believe that the live show is the most powerful aspect of Kraised. "Entertaining people is what it's all about, thats why we do it", adds Tones.
The ultimate moment so far for Kraised has to be winning the 2005 Alice Cooper's "Proof Is In The Pudding" talent search and playing for 5,000 at Alice Cooper's "Christmas Pudding" Show at Dodge Theatre. The band got to share the stage with Alice Cooper, Styx, The Tubes, Tesla, CTA, Don Felder and many more. "It's an honor to play on the same stage as the bands you grew up listening to." says axe man Ronnie "Psych" Ward. "Its even better to hear all those people screaming along - most of who had never heard of us before."One highlight of the group is 10yr. old Jack Ripper. This amazing guitar shedder raises the bar on stage for the already wild band. When Jack and Ronnie cut heads, it is truly an awesome part of the show.
The sky's the limit for this band because its obvious they love what they do. The kind of contagious energy that Kraised puts forth is what makes this act so addictive. Combine that with a healthy dose of catchy yet different, heavy but not too heavy tunes that make you want to get up and move. The band has released a new CD titled Give Me My MP3s! and is available now!
