About Me

Hello, I am Alicia and I have just recently relocated to Montreal,Quebec from London, England. In London, I ran a Stress-Buster Course using Movement and Music Therapy for relaxation. I also worked as a promoter of Afro-Peruvian Music and Dance and Afro-Cuban Jazz. In addition, I was a member and project coordinator for the Association of Dance of the African Diaspora (ADAD) and freelance audience development evaluator for the Jazz Development Trust with the late Jonathan Abbott in London.I have a BM in Piano Performance from Kentucky State University 1989-1993; Master's in Music Therapy 1993-1996 Florida State University ; Regent University PhD course work in Intercultural Communication 1998-1999; and Greenwich Community College in London, England certification in WebDesign and Graphic Design 2005-2006.I have joined myspace to network with people who are working in the area of Lifestyle and Fitness Coaching and people who are creating unique music and dance.

My Interests

My interests are "roots" percussion/drumming, dancing samba, forro, rumba, capoeira and other Brazilian and Afro-Peruvian Folkloric dances, Negro Spirituals,old-Soul Music, Funk, Gnawa music and culture, afro-Latin history, art, ballet, cooking, travel, and languages (Portuguese, Spanish,Italian and French).I use various afro rhythms for relaxation, "Movement -n- Music Therapy"....
