About Me

I spend way too much time & money on music...so many bands; so broke......I love the sunshine and love the snow. I like it when the rain pours down and washes all the city dirt away. I like to be by the sea and smell the ocean and collect sea-shells. I love to sit by a pool on a roasting, hot day. I love chocolate & vanilla ice-cream. I love to ice-skate on a frozen lake and cuddle by an open fire. I love to watch movies and get immersed in a great book. I love it when music takes you somewhere else where you feel the pain, the anger, the rejection, the love. I absolutely love Snow Patrol. I love to travel and discover new places. I love this earth; her myriad of big and small creatures, the sheer diversity of flora & fauna, the vastness of her landscape and most of my co-inhabitants. Most of all I love my family for sharing this wonderful life with me.But when do I get to enjoy any of these things?????? NEVER! Most of my time is bogged down by mundane chores & woeful lack of zeros in the bank account....

My Interests

Please help take care of this planet...Climate change is the single most prolific catastrophe which is affecting every person, animal and plant on this planet. Save energy! Recycle, Re-use and Reduce your waste! Don't bite the hand that feeds you. We only have the one planet (unless we invade Mars). Mother earth needs everybody's love.

I'd like to meet:

Gary Lightbody. But seriously, all indie/alternative/folk/rock people; people who care about the state of our planet and anyone who claims to be vaguely interesting.....

Music:

is great! Especially from Snow Patrol, Bright Eyes, Kaiser Chiefs, Muse, Feeder, Sigur Ros, Kasabian, Radiohead, Andrew Rex, Cowboy X, Longview, The Killers, Vib Gyor, The Cinematics, Death Cab for Cutie and Mew. So many more awaiting discovery...

Movies:

are really disturbing when the original versions are dubbed in another language.A Softer Place To Fall

Television:

Hardly watch any. There are hundreds of channels but nothing's ever on...

Books:

I'm reading Bryan Charles - Grab on to me tightly as if I knew the Way

Heroes:

Wonder Woman when I was like 8 years old. I used to spin round and round hoping I would magically transform into Lynda Carter's perfect form, but I just ended up throwing up on my mum's front porch most of the time.

Idle Chit-Chat

How can someone fall so hopelessly in love with someone after like 20 minutes of chat online?  It may only be a physical attraction but that's about it.  I think if the person you are skypin...

Tantrums & Stress

Why do we bring our young children to playgroups?  This is organised chaos and all it ever brings is agony-for both mother and child.  Child psychologists have overwhelming proof that toddle...

The Finish Line

I look around at my fellow passengers.  Every day the same tired faces buried in their paperbacks and daily tabloids; absorbed by the sounds coming out of their ipods; ignoring everything and eve...

Memories in Sound-Part II

So in 1988 I finally left boarding school.  Tears of joy were streaming down my face as my dad's car pulled out of the courtyard for the last time.  Kylie Minogue was in bed with Stock, Aitk...
