What inspired you to do music?
Two things - When I was 12 or 13, my mother told us to make our own rap.
The other was Cypress Hill.
Do you feel the urge to be a positive force for Chicano rap, and the young Mexican kids that may be inspired by your music?
I feel a responsibility to be honest. I can play our record for my mother or our little cousins - and it's something I can be proud of. I wouldn't have it any other way.
How long have you guys been at it/rhyming?
We've been performing together since 2000. I did some DJing and production for groups before that - but that was the year we first rapped on stage together.
How big is the rap scene in Minnesota? It's not exactly known as rapper haven.
Our friends and fans hold us down. If I may, I'm going to shout out these records to watch for - I Self Devine's "Sound of Low-Class Amerikkka" and Usual Suspects' new project. Also, my man Big Zachariah from Kanser just put out a solo record.
What did you guys eat for breakfast? Rice Krispies
What is your 1 goal for making music/What do you want to be known for when it's all over?
We make records as Big Quarters, we'll also have more producer-style contributions on the way. What do I want to be known for - we put family first.
What is/was the concept for your album, "Cost Of Living", and what are your plans and ideas for the next album?
Cost of Living speaks to our feeling of responsibility to contribute something nutritious - for the ears. Our new album - the title is "Lake City Browns". Medium Zach and I will be doing the majority of production again, and we'll likely have something from my man Benzilla to have proper representation.
