Darthbasser (Greig Robinson) is a highly respected bass player born into a musical family from Perth, Scotland. His father was a drummer and young Darth couldn't help but follow in those footsteps and started out playing drums at the age of 4. He continued playing drums for 9 years when he found an affinity with the bass guitar becoming a very competent, solid player at the age of 13. The force was strong!
At 16 he attained a position at Leeds College of Music, where he studied from 1991-1995. Greig turned fully professional in '95 and soon became a name to be relied upon as a solid performer and session player. Today he is based in London and continues to work all over the world playing a wide range of musical styles.
In the last 15 years Greig has worked live, in the studio and on television/radio with various bands and artists such as Corrine Bailey Rae, Max Beesley, Ray lewis's Drifters, Chrissie Hynde, Mozez (zero 7), Yes Boss, Nightmares on Wax, Rhiana, Tawiah, Dan Goldman (morcheeba, JD73), Dave Beer, DJ First Rate, Keith Allen and Kila Kela. He has also supported artists such as Chaka Khan, Mark Ronson, Badly Drawn Boy, Edwin Starr (RIP), Roni Size, Jurassic 5 and DJ Shadow to name but a few.
Greig is widely appreciated and recognised within the UK music scene for his perfection, attention to detail and quality of performing. His experience extends over 18 years and at the age of 32 his passion and thirst for music is still the same as when he first started out.
