We all die. The goal isn’t to live forever, the goal is to create something that will.

About Me

I'm a bearded iris freak! Check out my pics! These are just a sample of some of the 250 varieties I have growing. Tragically the drought has had a devestating effect on the majority of my plants this year and the spring splendour I was hanging for was a total anti climax. I trust a better season will have me happier this time next year! I live on the family farm in rural NSW where I grow these gorgeous plants! Bearded Iris love full sun and big frosts! They are drought resistant and a stunning addition to any garden. Apart form iris' I love my roses, peonys and orchids. The other thing that takes up all my time is my work as a community developer for the Uniting Church in South West Sydney. I have a small congregation that meets in a school hall for a contemporary multi media worship service! I have four delightful children who are my life and who completely exhaust and energize me - double edged sword. I'm a soccer mum and I love it.

Movies:

All time favourites are Pretty Woman, Notting Hill, Lord of the Rings, The Saint, Matrix Trilogy, 12 Monkeys, Meet Joe Black, Pirates of the Carribean - actually anything with Johnny Depp, David Wenham, Hugo Weaving, Tommy Lee Jones or Brad Pitt - I'm shameless that way. Sigh.

Television:

Love my Alias, Grey's Anatomy, Lost and House; Black Adder and Sea Change. Plus Survivor, Thank God You're Here and The Amazing Race.

Books:

Anything and everything by Baroness Orczy, Tim Winton, John Marsden, Eugenia Price and JK Rowlings (of course)!

Heroes:

I've thought about this a lot and decided that anyone who lives for the sake of others is my hero, from Mother Teresa to my mum. I truly admire selflessness in a world where it's neither fostered nor encouraged. People who stand up against injustice and alongside the poor like Archbishop Oscar Romero are my ultimate heroes.I'm also a huge fan of people who overcome the odds - I have so much respect for special olympians and for other people who reach deep inside of themselves to overcome heartache and pain, disease or disfigurement, prejudice and racism, to make something of themselves or to make the world a better place.
