About Me

I make music and am not limited to one genre. I hear a song in my head, and find the best way possible to illustrate that to you, whether it be country, screaming at the top of my lungs, or simply reading a poem. I don't limit myself, and I'd appreciate it of you to do the same. I hope you enjoy what you hear. Please let me know what you think of my music, honest opinions welcome. Thank you all for your continuing support, I love you.

Sounds Like: Here's what some people said:

"Immediately, as I heard the first few strums from the guitar, I decided that I was given the perfect CD for my first review (I'm a fan of the acoustic). Jacobs voice is sometimes rough (a fan states on his MySpace page that hes 'gargled with just the right amount of razor blades'), and at other times silky. Once in a while, he doesnt quite make the pitch hes going for, which is my only negative comment on the vocals. Though many of his lyrics are by no means unique, they are, by and large, sung beautifully.Jacob Lee's 'The Georgia EP' opens with the aptly named, 'Georgia'. The violin is a beautiful touch to this song (or maybe I'm just a sucker for any stringed sound). The lyrics, 'It's just the idea of having someone, someone there. / Is that the way it happens? / Someone will make it all okay' express a familiar loneliness and hope that weve heard about before.'Down to the River' has a fuller sound, a cheery rhythm, and a nice bass line, creating a fun, folky tune. I enjoy it, but once again was not blown away by the creativity of the lyrics.'Untitled' A very slow song, my attention starts to fade a bit here. However, it is aurally pleasing. Some lyrics that stuck out to me were:'When You were younger Your dad he told you to be a man Now the days are longer And you're starting to understand What it takes to feel love And to have someone who understands you.'Not incredibly original, but I feel that they created an actual emotion for me, unlike the rest of his lyrics. Another confession: I am a writing major; lyrics are BIG for me.'Untitled pt 2' is an instrumental track, and a pleasant extension to the previous song. I think it was a good call to add this here; it picks my interest back up, and features an interesting harsh sound from the electric over a soft and sweet melody. If you enjoy acoustic music at all, I recommend giving Jacob Lee a listen. Hes got a good voice, and he can play. Thats all I needed from him in order to enjoy this EP."

"With the acoustic guitar being my favorite instrument it isn't hard to be positive! I love the sound that the whole CD has. It has a real, raw sound that makes you feel like you are part of a story and by the end of the CD you have to listen to it agian to make sure you didn't miss anything. It is full of personality and depth. It has a smooth sound and a sharp edge. It has a catchy feel to it that leaves you singing one of the songs for the rest of the day. You can tell that there was thought, emotion and fun put into it. Much aticipation for the full-length!"

-Brandie Ashburn

"Often when you hear your type of "edgy voice" it can sound a little put on or contrived...this is not at all the case with you, sounds honest and like you've gargled with just the right ammount of razor blades!"
