Wesley Jensen and The Wildcats

About Me

With a humble mix of indie rock and alt country, Wesley Jensen's music is an inspiring presentation of timeless, folk-rooted, organic songwriting. From small-town Redding, CA, Jensen has previously released two highly regarded EPs, "Pirates & Cowboys" and "Stories". Over the past two years touring and playing, he has made a reputation for himself as one of the next great up and coming artists to look out for. With a new album titled "Battles" releasing in 2009, it looks be a big year for the twenty-one year old. His new creation of "epic folk" will surely turn the head of any listener.

Sounds Like: "With swirling echoes of Wilco, Sufjan Stevens, Ryan Adams and Eisley (with Christie Dupree of the Eisley family on vocals), Wesley Jensen’s music has an aerial, soaring quality with the heart’s doors thrown wide open. Not holding back, not one inch, it’s clear that Jensen is gushing with muse beyond his years. Skipping through alt country, and indie rock, his folk-rooted foundation gives these songs a friendly and familiar disposition, whether they’re slow and poignant like Forward or semi-celebratory like Act Your Part. Any way you look at it, between his yearning vocals and organic songwriting, Pirates and Cowboys is nothing less than a gem." -CD Baby (www.cdbaby.com)
"Jangly acoustic guitars, harmonicas and a penchant for pop music? I'm sold, and that's no secret. Wesley Jensen, a Redding, CA resident, has perfectly aligned country, folk, and pop music in his debut offering entitled Pirates & Cowboys. Modest verses launch into epic choruses, leaving very little to be desired. And as if I needed a reason to dig the music even more, Jensen's lyrical ability gets my vote as well."-Lizzy (www.comepickmeup.net)
