Paul Campos Makes HeadlinesSpeaking at our convention on how the media frames political stories, Paul Campos incited a flurry of headlines across the nation when he commented on Anne Coulter's recent attack on Presidential Candidate John Edwards. Regardless of his personal views, Paul Campos is not only a highly regarded Professor of Law at University of Colorado, he is also a welcomed speaker our next convention. Pat Waak Commits to Youth Delegates on Convention Floor in 2008During our convention, State Chair of the Democratic Party Pat Waak announced that they will be committing a certain number of delegates to young democrats for the 2008 Convention. While many groups are still finalizing the plan for the delegation selection process, CYD promises to keep everyone informed. Additionally, CYD will have an endorsement process as the convention draws near. We hope that everyone interested keep coming to CYD and DYD functions to make that process even easier. Obama Rally This Sunday in DenverBarack Obama will be in Denver on Sunday, March 18th at Sherman Street Event Center at 1770 Sherman Street. The doors open at 4 PM. There is a suggested donation of $25 dollars but the PUBLIC IS WELCOMED.In addition, volunteers are needed to help with the event on 3 pm. CYD Happy Hour at Red Room
When: Thursday, March 29th 5-8 PM Where: Red Room (320 E. Colfax Ave.) What: We're not just politics, we're fun too! Come join us with some drinks at a popular Capitol Hill bar. We have managed to get some drink specials: $2 domestic drafts, $3 Premium drafts, $3 house wine and well drinks and a small happy hour menu.
A Conversation With Colorado on Education Reform
When: Monday, April 9, 7-8 PM Where: East High School Auditorium (1545 Detroit St.) What: House Speaker Andrew Romanoff and Senator Peter Groff have launched statewide conversations about reforming our public education system to better prepare our children for the challenges of the 21st century.
