About Me
Zach Brown, a 17 year old native of Columbia, Maryland, is an up-and-coming bassist quickly establishing a name for himself in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area. He has studied bass with Pepe Gonzalez, Herman Burney, John Lockwood, John Clayton, and Oscar Stagnaro. Zach has performed at Baltimore's Artscape, The East Coast Jazz Festival, the Vail Jazz Festival, the Syracuse Jazz in the Square Festival, and the Duke Ellington Jazz Festival. In addition, Zach has performed at venues including Blues Alley, Strathmore Music Center, Twins Jazz Club, the Smithsonian Jazz Café, The Berklee Performance Center, Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, the Atlas Theatre, and the Lincoln Theatre. Also, Zach has played with artists such as Slide Hampton, Terell Stafford, Lewis Nash, Taylor Eigsti, and Mark Walker. In both 2006 and 2007, Zach won a prestigious Student Music Award from Downbeat magazine. In 2007, Zach was selected as a member of the Vail Jazz Workshop led under the direction of John Clayton, Jeff Clayton, Terell Stafford, Lewis Nash, and Bill Cunliffe. Zach is currently a senior at Wilde Lake High School and plans to pursue a career in music.
