About Me

Bryan Carter has become one of the young forces in the Chicago jazz community. Beginning his musical journey at the age of three, Carter quickly developed his love of music and began to study the Violin and the Drums. By the age of ten he was performing with community high school all-star bands and attending prestigious music camps. Carter has performed or recorded with Jon Faddis, Clark Terry, Kirk Whalum, Terrell Stafford, Bobby Watson and many more. He has also performed at Lima Peru Jazz Festival, Chicago Jazz Festival, South Shore Jazz Festival, African Jazz Festival, and the Iowa City Jazz Festival as well as being a two time IAJE Leadership Award recipient. He has participated in the 2007 Brubeck Summer Jazz Colony, 2007 Vail Jazz Colony as well as being selected to the 2008 Gibson/Baldwin Grammy Jazz Ensembles. In the fall Bryan will be attending The Juilliard School in New York City.
