I am currently the host of the NFL Network show, NFL Total Access and I have been with the network since it began in 2003. I also works as a play-by-play announcer for CBS Sports' coverage of the U.S. Open Tennis Championships, in addition to serving as the anchor for the network's weeknight (and late-night) highlights show during the tournament. Before working for the NFL network, I worked for the Staten Island Advance, the Chicago Tribune, CBS News, and ESPN. It was at ESPN and SportsCenter where I received the most fame. I was part of a duo with Stuart Scott, and became well-known for my humor, most notably my impressions of Atlanta Braves play-by-play announcer Skip Caray. I started at ESPN in 1996. Before starting work at ESPN, I was sports anchor and reporter at KRCR-TV in Redding, California from 1994 to 1996.
I have also done work on VH1's I Love the 70's, 80's, and 90's. I was a 1990 graduate of the University of Michigan, where I was an editor at Michigan Daily and a member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. I also completed a master's degree in journalism at Northwestern University.
During the 2005 NFL Scouting Combine, I ran the 40 yard dash in a suit on NFL Total Access at the Scouting Combine, and posted a time of 6.7 seconds! In 2006, I ran it again in a suit, and cut off half a second of my time, reducing it to 6.2 seconds! beat that LT and Bush! On the March 27 episode of NFL Total Access aired at the Owners Meeting in Orlando, Florida, I personally announced I candidacy for NFL Commissioner (since incumbent Paul Tagliabue is slated to retire in July 2006 after 16 years as the NFL's head honcho) to Adam Schefter. Schefter did a favor for me by lobbying for him with the owners. I didn't win! I still don't get how I didn't win!
I am married to the best women a man could know, ABC Sports college football sideline reporter Suzy Shuster
