About Me

Charlotte Barnett is a coloratura soprano currently pursuing paths in both the opera and chamber music genres, particularly in contemporary styles. After graduating from the New England Conservatory, Charlotte moved to NYC for a year, freaked out, and is now randomly living in Arizona pursuing her Master's in vocal performance at Northern Arizona University.
Most recently, Charlotte performed the role of Blondchen in Mozart's "Die Entführung aus dem Serail" at the Magnani Theater in Fidenza, Italy. She also covered the role of Fanny in the premiere of a new American opera by Ricky Ian Gordon, "Morning Star," at the Seagle Music Colony. Some of Charlotte's past roles include Lucy (The Telephone) and Miss Pinkerton (The Old Maid and the Thief), and the partial roles of Konstanze (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Juliette (Gounod's Romeo et Juliette) and Euridice (Orfeo ed Euridice). Charlotte's all-time favorite role, however, was that of Captain Hook in her 11th grade production of Peter Pan, for which she beat out all the boys in drama club.
Upcoming performances include Anne in Sondheim's "A Little Night Music," as well as a whole bunch of other stuff that she hasn't auditioned for yet.
