Since first
working together in 2001, Muph & Plutonic have propelled themselves into
the heart of Australian Hip-Hop, the evolution of their rapport shining through
their releases from their first joint album "Hunger Pains"
in 2004 through to their second album "Silence The Sirens"
(2006). The ongoing partnership between (MC) Muph and renowned producer Plutonic
has thrived to the point where they are now regarded as one of this country's
finest Hip-Hop acts.
Throughout his 15 year career Muph has released 2 solo records & worked on numerous
guest feature projects, collaborating with some of Australia's most respected
beat craftsmen, including Suffa (Hilltop Hoods), Dave
Atkins (Resin Dogs), Plutonic Lab, Jase (Beatheadz),
Denorthwode (Mnemonic Ascent), DJ Bonez &
Ransom. His reflective and conscious songwriting continues
to delve into uplifting and inspiring topics, simultaneously maintaining an
honest and humbled approach to all aspects of life. Muph has featured on recordings
alongside notable Hip-Hop artists including The Grouch (Living Legends),
Fatlip (Pharcyde), Hilltop Hoods, Urthboy,
Pegz, and DJ Bonez.
Plutonic Lab is easily one of the most revered producers
in Australian Hip-Hop. His production has featured on over 50 LPs/Singles &
EPs on a variety of labels. Plutonic has upped the production status quo with
numerous critically acclaimed albums, including "Axis"
by Pegz (2005), and Plutonic's third solo LP, "Codes Over
Colours", (2005), which presented some of the most atmospheric
and inspirational Hip-Hop yet to come out of Australia. His most recent work
on Ivens debut LP "Sounds To Expire To" (Eco
Tone 2007) was touted as “the most striking Australian hip-hop release
of the year†(Dan Rule, The Age). He remixed Hilltop Hoods "The
Hard Road" Single & Urthboy "We Get Around" (Elefant
Traks), as well as contributing several tracks on Pegz 2007 album ‘Burn
City".:
Muph & Plutonic have undertaken numerous national tours
and festival shows, reactions to the tight energetic beats and fresh sounds
of Plutonic on drums, teamed with the finely crafted songwriting of Muph have
surpassed even their own expectations, most recently taking part in Triple
J's "AWOL" tour, playing in Karratha alongside Powderfinger
and The Grates & Melbournes Big Day Out.:
Currently, Muph & Plutonic have had their heads buried
in the studio working on their forthcoming album which is due for release in
2008. Muph & Plutonic have cemented themselves as innovators and are sure
to remain at the head of their craft.:
