About Me
Marc Vee is an accomplished musician who grew up in Miami, Florida. At the young age of seven Marc's parents bought him a guitar and sparked his interest in making music. Marc has spent many years developing his musical abilities. He has studied under the guidance of world class professors and teachers including: Rene Gonzalez, Juan Mercadal, Randall Dolohan, Vince Maggio and Whit Sidener. Besides performing, Marc Vee composes music, teaches guitar and produces his own as well as other artists' recordings working closely with his favorite studio engineer and friend "Mike Blaty".Marc recieved his formal training at the University of Miami School of music, majorong in Jazz guitar. Over the years he has toured internationally with various well known recording artists. He has also played in some of the top South Florida groups, earning a reputation as "one of the best". In the 80's Marc was a founding member of the group Apex, a successful recording and performing act that toured throughout the US and Latin America. Apex released 2 albums and one single which recieved extensive airplay on college radio stations.In the 90's Marc Vee was a featured member of Capitol Records recording artist, Nil Lara's group. Vee recorded 3 albums with Nil before embarking on his own solo career.In 1996 Marc released his debut album as a solo artist. The CD titled "Speaking in Sounds" features 8 original compositions and has recieved excellent reviews by the south Florida press as well as coniderable airplay on contemporary jazz stations throughout the state of Florida.Marc Vee has performed playing concerts on stage or on the same bill with the following artists: Boney James, Peter White, Craig Chaquico, Walter Beasley, Nestor Torres, Ed Calle, Jeff Golub, Warren Hill, Marc Antoine, Richard Elliott Chris Botti, Dave Brubeck, Spiro Gyra, Rudy Sarzo, Baryy Gibb, Paul Stuckey, Maria Conchita Alonso, Lucia Mendes, Kenny Loggins, Hewey Luis and the news, Stewart Copeland, Herbie Hancock,Najee and many more.In 2000, Marc Vee released "Magic Moments", an album which features the world class saxophone talents of Ed Calle on its title track as well as other excellent musicians. Marc asked Steely Dan Engineer Roger Nichols to Master this recording and it "sounds fantastic" according to many respectable sources.Marc Vee and his wife Elizabeth re-located to Southwest Florida in 2000 and settled in Estero. The west coast of Florida gave Marc a new found inspiration and he colaborated with a talented saxophonist named Johnny Magsax to form the contemoprary jazz duo Vee/Magsax Project. The album "Souled Out" features talented Southwest Florida Musicians: Darrell Nutt on drums and David C. Johnson on the bass, It was recorded by Mike Blaty, produced by Marc Vee and co-written by Marc and Johnny Magsax. Roger Nichols added the final touches with brilliant mastering. Vee/Magsax Project played a concert at "Jazz on the Green 2004" on the bill with Boney James and Chris Botti.In 2006, Marc Vee continues on his musical journey with a brand new solo album in the works. The Vee Magsax Project (VMP) recently were honored to open up for Kenny G earlier this year in Fort Myers, Florida.Marc also leads his band "The Marc Vee Band" playing private events such as weddings and corporate parties while never losing sight of his purpose: "to make the best music that I possibly can at all times and never losing the fun factor, which is what it's all about.
