born in 1975, father german, mother icelandic. studied jazz-piano at the conservatories in cologne and paris with hans lüdemann, john taylor, bill dobbins, daniel humair and francois theberge. in 2000 member of the european youth jazz orchestra. received the cologne jazz award in 2003. leads his own trio, recent cd "le grand lustucru - lars duppler trio plays kurt weill", the franco-german ensemble "alliance urbaine" and prepares a german-icelandic project called "rætur". published three cds with the nils wülker group (two of them on sony music), the cd "lamentation" with the frank sackenheim quintett and two cds with his former project "palindrome 6tet" (jazzhausmusik). played several jazz festivals s.a. jazz baltica, leverkusener jazztage, jazzfestival aalen, jazz festival novi sad, montreux jazz festival. concerts in different countrys, s.a. iceland, china, united states, belgium, netherlands, luxemburg, france, denmark, turkey. played or recorded with john ruocco, keith copeland, joachim kühn, wolfgang muthspiel, torun eriksen. appearance on most german major radio and several tv-stations. 2006 resident at the cité internationale des arts in paris, holding a scholarship of ministry of culture. 2007 new project "la tempete", a blend of 70s jazz and rock.
