Bodacious is a spoken word artist based out of St. Louis. Filled with raw energy, she's a very entertaining and passionate performer. Her repertoire is varied, but she's definitely known for "bringing it" in all of her performances. She's a headliner who can collaborate on any genre of music. Her history as a theatre actress definitely takes shape as any character she portrays on stage comes alive...making each of us accountable for who we are. Now, you know I wrote this about myself in the third person. Like most, I am multi-dimensional, multi-faceted. My twin soul, Bodacious the Poet, also has a Myspace page. Check her out. I am just one of those people who is open to liking almost any kind of music. I'm just an artist, everyday in the core of me I HAVE to let that out. There is just too much power to try to pack it down in this body. You know? Talk to me. Influences: God and the uniqueness of the Universe. Free spirited souls, Ricki Byars-Beckwith, Ultra Nate, India Arie, Floetry, Brand New Heavies, Goappelle, Norah Jones, Jill Scott, Les Nubians, Common, Imani Coppola, Nailah, Piana, Andreas Wollenweider, Alisha Meyers, Basement Jaxx, Shawn Escoffery ( I'm not spelling too well), and so many more. Other influences? Sitting outside and listening to the wind flow and the trees chit & chat and all that. Watching the mini of me, take shape and fly daily without ever leaving the ground. etc., etc. and so much more!
Sounds Like: The tightest spoken word you ever felt!!! Okay, that's the ego talking. Still, I am blessed with verse and a distinct delivery and I am truly humbled by that. A little bit of wild in the calm, a little bit of holla in the silence and a whole lot of personality.
