Tangled Up in Blue

About Me

Writing is a large part of my life whether it be poetry, short stories, insignificant ramblings or journalism. I will write about anything to hopefully gain the best start I can after finishing uni. I like travelling and at present have a constant wish to attempt new things; instead of going to the same places, the world is becoming grey and scoiety to stale. I prefer to look at the world, and then blink and look at with a different perspective, away from tedious liars and robbers, or men caught up by garbag news with spears in their minds. I never did focus on anything without meaning, and there isn't such thing as an end to the means, only a means to an end, but I've lost the point of my end, and don't know where I want to walk. I'm never content to shine my torches, and why? Because the masses reject the real reason they are here because it will kill them and they will choke, not from the ultimate truth but the truth they have created in their lies. So there you are, I'm different from the world, a writer who perceives compos mentis as the real truth and religion.

My Interests

Playin guitar, writing, reading travelling, it used to be alcohol but thats been replaced by green tea although it will probably go back to whisky and ginger. I have recently rekindled my love of photography and hoping to find people to create abstract scenes.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone thats fun and creative. Eclectic and those who differ from the usual run of the mill, with a vision of an abstract world. Those who think the world moves to slow. It is true we are mere spectators to it all, and our roles are set, but I want to meet people who are willing to take a chance. If you wish to know more about my poetry and writing or wish to collaborate, or gain ideas please send me a message. I'm trying to make it as a writer, in particular a poet and songwriter, and I'm hoping to move in the next two years, Paris, or the States. If you have similar aspirations please get in touch. ..

Music:

Bob Dylan, Donovan, Syd Barrett, Pink Martini. I also like the Kinks very candy coated from the sixties, Beatles, some Led Zep, Woody Guthrie, Leadbelly, and other folkies - Ralph Mctell. Also Johnny Cash, Antony and the Johnsons, the Verve, Tom Waits, Howlin Wolf, Blind Lemon Jefferson, and I have recently been shown the talents of Billy Childish. This guy is raw to the core, infact no he goes even deeper - I seriously recommend. Also I love 1960s/70s vibes like Vampyros Lesbos and Popshop etc

Movies:

Lord of the Rings, Jaws, Revolver, Snatch, Clockwork Orange, Get Carter.

Television:

Hates soaps, gossip and reality tv. Television doesn't do a great deal for me.

Books:

Milton's Paradise Lost, poetry from Dylan Thomas, William Blake, anything from C. Marlowe also Shelley (Mary or Percy). I'm reading Bob Dylan Chronicles read it aboutn 100 times before tho lol! Myths of the Celts, I enjoy mythology, English Anthologies, Donovan's autobiography, Lord of the Rings, Language of Poetry... the list goes on and on... Check out Stanley Fish Surprised by Sin is a great text.

Heroes:

My parents and I suppose the man upstairs. Anyone who can fight or persist for their cause, but it has to be a right cause. You may as well be without a cause, if the one you pursue is wrong. People who have come from the gutter and made it big, they know what sacrifice really is and their world has seen blacker nights and days than most.
