About Me

Lindsey Jones is the fresh new face of Folk Rock music. Born and raised in Overland Park, KS, this youthful beauty will hold you with honest performances, heartbreaking passion, and moving lyrics. She grew up performing in Kansas City, opening for various artists such as Jars of Clay. Her noted performances earned loud responses from her fans and listeners. This led her to move to Nashville, TN where she graduated from Belmont University and began writing and performing her own music around town. Her first album, Broken Windows, was released in late fall of 2003. While at Belmont, Lindsey was chosen to perform in several showcases including the 2006 Commercial Music Showcase. She released a second album that spring, Bullet E.P., and set out to pursue her dream. Today, you will find Lindsey Jones singing across the country…and everywhere she goes, she leaves an undeniable impression on her listeners, awakening them to a new understanding of honest music and youthful passion. Lindsey Jones has the unique ability to sing in a way that will make you believe that that song, in that moment, is the story of her life. She will pull you in and lead you through the emotions, thoughts, experiences, and lessons from her 23-year-old life. Her honesty and passion will make you feel like you’ve known her forever.**************************************************** ************************************************************ ***************************************************** Get this FREE MySpace layout and more at MySpaceOrYours.net

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: cdbaby.com/cd/lindseyjones
Influences: Sarah Harmer, Patty Griffin, Lori Chaffer, Shawn Colvin, Ryan Adams, Coldplay, Billy Joel, Journey, Amy Grant, Aimee Mann, Sandra McCracken, Derek Webb, Chasing Furies, Plumb, Fleetwood Mac, Holly Williams, Joseph Arthur, Over the Rhine, Rosie Thomas, Sixpence None the Richer, Steve Tyrell, Wilshire, Nicolle Galyon, Seth Jones, Ben Rosenbush...check these people out! And then, I suppose I have been non-musically influenced by my many people...my parents...my whole family, really...my granparents, even...then there's Kari Kragness (because she's such a good dancer and she has the best sexy pose around), Betsy Boyer (because she is, simply put, amazing and beautiful), Nicolle Galyon (because I need a good friend and a dose of reality every now and again), Julianna Zobrist (because she she can't not be honest and she's so cool), Ashley Huebner (because her friendship is SO good), Tiffany Spears (because we like boys and we have problems), Lindsay Wells (because we both have Sprint :), we like to be hyper, and we're twins), Erin Ackerman (because she's hotter than the pot of chili cooking on my stove), and then my roomates Katie Gifford and Lib Kearse (because they make me so happy...all the time...and we like monkemail)...That's a lot of people...but I'm pretty easily influenced.

Thoughts From Down Under

In thinking through all of my past blogs and a majority of the songs I've written, I've realized that I'm most inspired when I am sad. I'm sure no one would argue that there is nothing like loss to ma...
