During this time she developed her skills on blues harp and established her own singing style drawing on the many sources available to her.KATIE LIVE Katie has a warm and open stage manner and these same characteristics shine through in her musicianship. Her voice blends delicacy with surprising power and is equally alluring whether enriched by instrumental backing or unaccompanied. With an imaginative approach to instrumental arrangements she gives a contemporary edge to antique songs.WRITING AND RECORDING As well as performing with her bands and duo's, Katie has worked with performers in Europe and America. Katie has featured on albums by Jack Pound, Luke Smith and recorded many sessions in the Uk and abroad. Katie features, in a duet with best friend, (Canterbury legend) and as-it-happens: Anti-folk hero, Luke Smith on his latest album "This Time I've Done it" BEJOCD-47. Check out 'The Hard Way', Katies use of her own english accent has been compared to the late and great Kirsty Macoll, which has been a humbling compliment.Katie also offers backing vox throughout with sister Caroline as one of 'The Feelings'. Katie has also been included in the 2001 ‘Blues in Britain CD’ featuring the UK’s top blues performers/vocalists including Wes Weston and Emily Druce. Katie’s debut CD ‘Night sky’ was released in 2003 at The Gulbenkian Theatre. Katie’s is currently working on new material for a new album to be released soon.
