Peace is... was founded by designer Seidah Nichols in the summer of 2002. Seidah started out making flag colored earrings for the labor day parade in Brooklyn NY. When she found out that her designs were still in demand well after the parade she felt she was onto something. Seidah and her aunt (Gwendolyn Simpson of Simpsons Originals) then covered a huge painting that she found in the trash (one mans trash is another woman's treasure)with velvet material to display her new collection of earrings and went to every nail salon and hair salon on Flatbush ave and then on Fulton street. She had a steady clientele that ordered custom pieces, after all every one wants to have something that no one else has. Seidah loved the feed back she got from her clients. Having to compete with the generic $1 earrings was no competition at all. She learned that people love quality and they also like to be unique and that's what her business was all about. Seidah called her collection Peace Is.. because it sounds like Pieces and each piece is truly a work of art with natural materials such as feathers, semi precious and precious stones, leather and her newest collection "SwaroCouture" uses the very glamorous and glitzy Swarovski Crystals. Since the summer of 2002 "Peace Is..." has grown to more than earrings but they also carry necklaces, bracelets, and rings now. Peace Is...has also been featured in numerous music videos, fashion shows, and magazines such as the most recent "BlackMen Magazine February/March 2006" issue.
