also, just so you know, i don't want to meet you unless you have read this blog by desi in its entirety. and i mean that.
and this here's who YOU'D like to meet. if you know what's good for you:
siouxsie, bitches!
the girl is so sweet
always writing haiku, too
you’ll really like her!
promise!
i like music other people make fun of, and am somehow at the same time a giant music snob. i especially like songs that make me want to shake my ass, and when andre 3000 demands that i lend him some sugar! he is my neighbor! i get really giddy. still! even now, every time i hear it. also, sixties girl groups, especially anything phil spector touched with his crazy golden finger. or anything that sounds like it. yet for that, and all my other little music snobberies, i'd take courtney love and billie joe over anything else, any day. and... that's the song, bitch!
quentin tarantino is obnoxious, but i love him, the star wars trilogy, polyanna, anything tim burton or john waters ever made, the people v. larry flynt, fast times at ridgemont high, bedknobs and broomsticks, the big lebowski, bottle rocket, (apparently movies that start with 'b'), my extensive collection of pee wee's playhouse videos. i also like movies of live stand up comedy performances by the following five people: david cross, dave chapelle, eddie murphy, martin, and eddie izzard. oh, and sarah silverman, even though she's a girl.
i will watch anything. it's almost sometimes scary how much i love and am obsessed with tv. my job and life really cut into my tv watching time. see, i could be watching tv right now but i'm not. you know what's best? when maury povich is helping you find out who your baby's daddy is. also cheaters, even though apparently it's a big farce. i like shows about animals, and shows where skaters & their bodyguards get a new animal each season, especially if the second animal they get is a mini horse. also, paris & nicole.
'how to train your hamster' (complete with pictures of leashes, harnesses, and little litterboxes) is number one! i'm also kind of obsessed with 'graphic novels' and um, books about musicians, especially if they tend toward the cheesy and/or salacious (i'm thinking 'the dirt' by motley crue here). i also really like women's/teen girls' advice books, especially if they are from the 1950s and 1960s, but later's okay, too, still life with woodpecker, everything aaron cometbus ever wrote, is still writing, and is thinking about writing, anything francesca lia block ever wrote, nine stories, hotel lachapelle, valley of the dolls, books by edward gorey, stories j.d. salinger wrote for magazines that never got published in book form, phoebe gloeckner over and over again. but i will read anything, let's be clear about that.
